You should therefore NEVER install a timer on the pump, since when the pump stops the small quantity of water in the tank will heat up, boil and evaporate causing significant damage which is not due to the malfunction but to the lack of water circulation.

This pressure switch is a protection to protect the water heater, if there is not enough water pressure entering the tube, the water heater will automatically shut down.
